Weather for a range of days and years

Weather for a range of days and years

Is there a way to give WolframAlpha a specific range of dates and years?

I want the temperature for a city for the first half of may, over the last 10 years.

I can ask:

"New York, NY temperature May 1-5"

and get the temperature for May 1-5 2009.

I can add in a year and get it for a specific year as well

"New York, NY temperature May 1-5,2002"

I can add a range of years, but it then either calculates for the whole month:

"New York, NY temperature May 2000-2009"

Or the whole year:

"New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5,2000-2009"

What I want I could find with the combination of these queries:

New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2000
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2001
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2002
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2003
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2004
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2005
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2006
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2007
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2008
New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2009

But I don't want to run the queries individually and combine the data myself, I want Wolfran to do it's magic on that data for me!

Thanks,

Ryan

I tried your query:

New York, NY temperature May 1 - 5, 2000

and got back "Wolfram|Alpha isn't sure how to compute an answer from your input"?

Assuming your individualquery works you should be able to combine them as follows
((2 +2)+(7+3))/2
This works in this form.
Almost certainly it won't in your case.and you should report the failure using the feedback facility at the bottom of the output.
Start by trying to average only 2 results to save a lot of work.

An early obstacle is that you want a clean single figure returned in the 'result' pod. Again you should be able to get that by extending the single query to divide away unwanted factors such as 'degree fahrenheit' but again W|A may fail and so need another feedback. It may even fail to return a 'Result' pod.
Persist with this as it helps to improve W|A.

Mean Temperature`London`from 5th May 2007 to 10th May 2007
works as a single query. The ` is from the key to the left of the 1 key...though it makes no sense to me! It is interpreted as | but the | is not accepted in its place. I have reported that using feedback.
