1) How deep is the lake and what is the slope of the bottom to that depth? And what is the total volume of the water?

2) What is the shape of the perimeter of the lake?

3) What is the daily humidity and how does it vary over 24 hours? Does it remain constant for the entire period (unlikely)?

4) What is the salinity of the water?

5) What is the Latitude of the lake?

6) What is the ambient soil temp/lake temp?

The list can go on but this is just what comes to the top in a few seconds of thinking about it. If the time required is more than a few days, all these variables will be dynamic and would need to be measured continually. And the result of that first experiment would likely never be repeatable.
